Java Newline Problem

Andre, sorry I'm not sure exactly what you are asking.

The newline sequence in my example was "\r\n" which is the java chars for hex 0D and 0A, (the newline sequence on windows, as I'm sure you know).

As far as I can tell the characters being stored are correct, but for some strange reason Notes is not rendering them correctly. It looks like that instead of recognising that the characters are the newline sequence, Notes is seeing them as two distinct characters. Copying and pasting into a text editor and then back into notes corrects the problem. Just copying and pasting into notes without going via another editor, does not work, so there must be some difference in the bytes on the clipboard, but I've not been able to work out what.
